Obama should appoint Bechtel for oil leak

May 31st, 2010

Not since the Bush/Katrina malaise has there been such a void in leadership. Frankly I don’t care if the leak is in or out of our coastline boundaries we are taking the brunt of it.

Heck we put out 300 wells that Saddam set off on a foreign countries soil what do we have to do wait till the united nations gives us permission? Pick up the phone and call Bechtel and get it done. Back Charge BP later they obviously are incapable. . .a bunch of suits are running oil rig procedures doesn’t that say enough!

What is BP going to do put armed guards out there to stop our marines!

Chile just had an 8.8 quake

U.S. Geological Survey figures, Saturday’s 8.8-magnitude quake in Chile could be one of the most powerful in history.
This quake could be tied as the fifth-strongest earthquake recorded since 1900, when records were first kept.
The most powerful earthquake recorded also occurred in Chile, in 1960.  It had a magnitude of 9.5.  That  earthquake killed approximately 1,655 people, left about two million homeless, and caused $550 million in damage.

The Sumatra quake in recent years was a 9.1 killed aprox. 228,000 people primarily from tsunami aftermath.
The 1960 Chile earthquake generated a tsunami that caused 61 deaths and $75 million of damage in Hawaii, 138 deaths and $50 million damage in Japan, and another 32 dead and missing in the Philippines.
The National Earthquake information Center state that seismologists began recording earthquake magnitude in 1925.
The most powerful earthquakes have not necessarily been the deadliest.  The deadliest earthquake was recorded in 1556 in central China.  More than 830,000 people were reported killed in that quake, which had an estimated magnitude of 8

wow! that was a Grammy?

Well I had the American idiot, Leon Russell, Pink and the Black Eyed Peas all in one heavenly night of torture. What the heck have the Grammys come to.

The Grammys weren’t without some bright spots with Dave Mathews, Lil  Wayne and Slim Shady.

This is the year end celebration of Taylor Swifts emancipation from kanye West. . .where is he when we need him, at least we had a couple of laughs?

Michael Jackson still carried everyone on his broad shoulders with  ”what about us”.  Isn’t that a fitting question ? It should have been “what are we going to do for talent now that Michael is gone?

Well we still have Jon Bon Jovi “wanted dead or alive”

Jon Edwards affair

January 30th, 2010

Not since the six hundred dollar haircut has there been this much ruckus. . .that is in the self indulged story of John Edwards. Truth be known he’s not inherently a bad guy, just caught up in the web of it all. Glamor, power, self absorbtion, the story usually is the same.

How  do you go from being the tentative future President, then the heir apparent  Vice President, then to public enemy number  one in a years time?

Leave it to the Femme Fatal gentlemen, read Samson’s story sometime or if that’s to far back go to a good John F Kennedy/ Gary Hart read or William Jefferson Clinton for even a more updated historical.

Billy Graham had a rule No Breezes  in the room . . .it was that simple!

Jon was spelled that way on purpose.

Lennon, Reagan, Kennedy, Salinger

Something that all four of these have in common is the Catcher in the Rye.  Lennon and Kennedy’s Killer, along with Reagan’s attempted assassination all were nearly obsessed with The Catcher in the Rye.

Movie Catcher in the Rye

Catcher in The Rye, Holden Caulfield, Nine Stories Author Dead at 91

The previous could possibly change the fact, that for essentially 60 years, a Catcher in the Rye film hasn’t happened.

J.D. Salinger dies at 91 years old, but his spirit will forever live through Holden Caulfield. “The Catcher in the Rye” Salingers most well known novel, has had an enduring legacy since its release in 1951, and although banned and (partially due to such banning) instantly became not only a cult classic, but a classic in the sense of required high school reading. Caulfield, like Salinger lived a hermetic lifestyle, was born an old spirit, and kept a young outlook, and has influenced anyone familiar with the character/author in one way or another.

John Hinckley Jr. Mark David Chapman, and Lee Harvey Oswald are a couple of the most famous Catcher in the Rye fans, however, walk into any high school, college, or work place and find me five people in any given room that didn’t find comfort in Holdens quest to never be a phony, and you will surprise me. Salinger was no phony, pick up a copy of “Nine Stories” read the opening short story “Perfect Day for Banafish”, and you will be shocked to find that Catcher was never Salingers best work.
