This is the year end celebration of Taylor Swifts emancipation from kanye West. . .where is he when we need him, at least we had a couple of laughs?

Michael Jackson still carried everyone on his broad shoulders with  ”what about us”.  Isn’t that a fitting question ? It should have been “what are we going to do for talent now that Michael is gone?

Not since the six hundred dollar haircut has there been this much ruckus. . .that is in the self indulged story of John Edwards. Truth be known he’s not inherently a bad guy, just caught up in the web of it all. Glamor, power, self absorbtion, the story usually is the same.

How  do you go from being the tentative future President, then the heir apparent  Vice President, then to public enemy number  one in a years time?

Leave it to the Femme Fatal gentlemen, read Samson’s story sometime or if that’s to far back go to a good John F Kennedy/ Gary Hart read or William Jefferson Clinton for even a more updated historical.

Something that all four of these have in common is the Catcher in the Rye.  Lennon and Kennedy’s Killer, along with Reagan’s attempted assassination all were nearly obsessed with The Catcher in the Rye.

The previous could possibly change the fact, that for essentially 60 years, a Catcher in the Rye film hasn’t happened.

Salinger dies at 91 years old, but his spirit will forever live through Holden Caulfield. “The Catcher in the Rye” Salingers most well known novel, has had an enduring legacy since its release in 1951, and although banned and (partially due to such banning) instantly became not only a cult classic, but a classic in the sense of required high school reading. Caulfield, like Salinger lived a hermetic lifestyle, was born an old spirit, and kept a young outlook, and has influenced anyone familiar with the character/author in one way or another.

John Hinckley Jr. Mark David Chapman, and Lee Harvey Oswald are a couple of the most famous Catcher in the Rye fans, however, walk into any high school, college, or work place and find me five people in any given room that didn’t find comfort in Holdens quest to never be a phony, and you will surprise me. Salinger was no phony, pick up a copy of “Nine Stories” read the opening short story “Perfect Day for Banafish”, and you will be shocked to find that Catcher was never Salingers best work.

The ultimate Dude! 

At 21 everyone makes mistakes. . .even first round draft choices. Now that the cat is out of the bag or shall we say the banana out of the hammock let’s applaud Greg’s decision of fessing up right at the get go.

Besides that was supposed to be  private,  between Greg and I’m sure, a confidant with the implied rule that the picture was a momento, to be a keepsake. . .amd not for 300 million basketball fans.

Perhaps the photos just leaked out innocently at a society event, one debutant having to many cocktails. . .pardon the pun and sharing them with her friends. Oh well, such is life.

If tiger would have come clean it could have been a Letterman-ish blowover and not be  the circus it turned out to be.

At 60 the Dude finally nailed it down “I dig being dug” was the quote and with a Golden Globe under his belt the Dude was riding high. The world has matured  to the point where Jeff Bridges can be appreciated like a fine wine.

If only Sam Shepard would have been there to give a color commentary of the Dude’s gracioius acceptance of the Grey Goose martini.

In keeping with a couple of  past policies (namely two thousand years) China has now constructed the greatest Wall of All!  The real Great Wall is now in the process of of being constructed and unlike the brick/mortar/and stone kind this barrier is to the human mind. Yes folks the Draconian age is alive and well and it’s the best kept secret to  1.3 billion people give or take. The Internet and access to information is in the process of dissemination in a hurry unless Bill Clinton or some other super human can intervene and save Sergi and the crew from loosing this ominous customer base.

The last time China constructed a wall around the country it set them back a couple millenniums. . .thank God for Mattel and the jump the toy business gave China so they could get back in the Western World.  

Maybe if the US would kick Google out we wouldn”t have to spend so much on the wall to keep our brothers to the south within their borders, ha.

One final thought Perhaps William Gates will come  to the rescue with Bing!
